Generally, the girls are not allowed for higher education in villages due to club of family and social constraints. This is most prevalent with Dalit, OBC, and Muslim communities. In this scenario the girls hardly study up to 8-10th standard and it is too difficult to even think for studying some technical and vocational courses for them. This is also true that there is great scarcity ofgood trainers/ teachers in this field and whatever are available, limits up to urban and sub-urban localities where boys and girls of better financial status get training by paying higher course fees. But in the villages, the boys and girls never fulfill their desire of learning such vocational courses, the girls either engaged in household works or married and boys divert to non technical labor works.

Vocational Training centre (VTC) is providing opportunity to the rural students especially girls could be trained for the self employment and self oriented income generation works such as Electronics & Electrical Trades, Hand Embroidery, cutting-tailoring and stitching, toys making, Paintings, and other related need and demand based craft work.

136 Girls has benefited through the vocational training program and at present, there are 80 girls getting training at VTC without any social-financial inequality and discrimination. They are sitting on the same carpet (dari) without any feeling of un-touch-ability and inequality. Now, the acceptance and need of the VTC is intensified and those who have never gone to schools are also joining the VTC to respect their internal feeling of learning and that was never fulfilled up to the age of 18. There are 25 girls who wear self stitched cloths and 12 girls have diversified their leaning for earning money, they stitch for others. Apart from stitching and tailoring, courses like embroidery, soft toy making, flower making and Zardoji (Hand Embroidery) work have been started at VTC. The VTC is also playing vital role in making aware and sensitizing the girls about the social issues like dowry, early marriage, women atrocities, gender inequality and education. The discussions on the social issues induce greater sense of social responsibility, confidence and fearlessness among the girls which is providing a definite goal for life. The speaks of girls – “now I don’t get scared of coming alone”, “I am fulfilling my desire”, “I am too happy because I am doing the things, I really wanted to” are self explainer of the success of Vocational Training Center.

After coming demand from vocational center project organized 5 days training programme in vocational center on various things. The resources person was Miss Vibha Singh she is a professional designer. She gives training on glass painting, block panting Zardoji (Hand Embroidery), fabric painting, Nib painting, for this trading she face nearly 50 km up and down from Varanasi to Jhalupur (place of vocational center).
