Human welfare association, Varnasi is associated with the Micro Credit (Saving & Credit Activities) through Self help groups since last 10 years in the rural area of Varanasi with the down trodden toiling masses for their economic, social & political upliftment.  We believe that without economic empowerment social and political empowerment is not complete.

At this moment, HWA is facilitating 139 Self Help Groups (SHG) with 1817 members among them 1378 are women and 439 are men. 72 are women SHG, 12 are men SHG & 55 are mixed (Men + Women) SHG are functional in the program area of 92 village especially in Dalit, OBC, & Minority Communities who are not getting proper place and dignity in the society. HWA feels that through the economic empowerment they will get their political & social rights in a dignified & systematic manner.
